How to unlock a Linksys VoIP

Voice over IP (VoIP) provides a way for companies to use communications telephony via the TCP/IP protocol.

TCP/IP is the Protocol of the Internet so that company with other offices in the Internet can communicate. Before you can communicate in VoIP, your Linksys router forwarding configuration must port. Port forwarding unlocked to provide voice communication over the Internet to the internal network. Difficulty: average

    Open your Web browser and type the IP address of your Linksys router in the navigation bar.

The default IP address is "192.168.1.1". Open your Linksys configuration console.

    "Applications and games", click the link at the top of the console window.

  • This will bring up a text boxes and drop-down list, where you enable VoIP, go to your internal network.

    Type a display name for use in the first text box.

  • Enter "1024" for the port of departure and "1030" end port "Both" Select Protocol drop down list. Type the IP address or internal network phone and click "enable."

    Repeat step 3 for both beginning and end of ports.

  • Here are two more lines: 5060 506510000 20000All other input the same as the information in step 3 is entered.

    Click the button "Save settings" located at the bottom of the console to complete the settings.
