Definition of a super computer

A super computer is a computer that provides faster processing capability at some point in the computer science.

It is usually more relevant when it comes to how fast a computer can perform calculations. Since technology is rapidly advancing, can term "super computer" is relative and what was called a super computer no longer considered a super computer that integrates a faster machine.

    History
  1. The first super computer was in the 1960s by the so-called "father of the super computer" Seymour Cray.
Cray has the Cray research company found its models produced.

Applications of Informatics
  • Super computers use to cope with speed calculation problems very complex in quantum physics, the climate and the weather forecast.

  • Simulation applications
  • These machines are also used to simulate the effects of nuclear weapons and to calculate the protein structures and properties of chemical compounds.

  • FLOPS
  • Super computer speed is measured in floating point operations per second or FLOPS.

  • Expert perspectives
  • An annual TOP500 list on super computer speed square.
  • In 2010, the Jaguar is known to be the fastest in the world Superordinateur the Cray.
